“The Dambusters” walk scheduled to take place on Thursday 25 May has been cancelled and will now take place at a later date.

Joy is moving her walk at Gower on 27 May and inserting another walk on that day, so please amend your programmes with the following: –

On Saturday 27 May, meet 9am at Cogan for a 10.5-mile moderate walk taking in Lydbrook and the River Wy

It has been decided to change the meeting point for walks starting from the Barry Waterfront due to building works taking place next to the car park spaces. The new location to meet is therefore to be Barry Dock Railway Station car park which is located in the Dock Offices of the Vale of glamorgan Council off Ffordd Y Mileniwm. For those with sat nav – Post Code (CF63 4RT) or Grid Ref (ST122676).

Saturdays 11 March walk will now be led by Barrie and will leave Cogan at 8.15am to catch the bus from Storey Arms to Brecon. Then an 8 mile walk back to Storey Arms.

Wednesday 15 March William’s Classic Black Mountains walk has been cancelled due to the leader having an operation. Will be rearranged for a later date.

Due to the weather forecast for Saturday this walk has been cancelled.

Cancelled 15 February walk

Unfortunately William has had to cancel his walk on the 15 February.

Please note the following regarding the Lydbrook walk. Joy has changed the route, so it will now be 10.5-mile mod/hard with two public conveniences and three stops.

However, because of the weather forecast for this week which is mostly for rain and the prospect of it worsening on the weekend, I am swopping my Lydbrook walk with the one at Goodrich on 5th March, because there are 3 paths on the Lydbrook walk that will be like a slalom after prolonged rain!

Barrie will be doing the walk that was originally scheduled for 7th January. Meet 8.15am at Cogan to share transport to Storey Arms to catch the 0935 bus from there to Brecon for the 8-mile moderate walk back which involves a long steady climb.

Any queries please contact Barrie on 029 2053 0753
